Breakthrough Junior Challenge

Breakthrough Prize sponsors an annual global competition for high school science and math students to inspire creative thinking about fundamental concepts in the natural sciences and mathematics.

Each student submits a video that explains a challenging and important concept or theory in mathematics, life sciences, or physics. The winner receives a $250,000 college scholarship. The winning student's teacher and school also benefit: $50,000 for the teacher and a state-of-the-art $100,000 science lab for the school.

Åsgard 2018: call for applications

"Åsgard Research Programme" has been initiated by the Department for scientific cooperation of the French Embassy in Norway in 2005. It aims at inviting French scientists for a one-week visit to Norway, during which they will be given the opportunity to meet Norwegian counterparts, visit private and public research institutions, and give a series of lectures and courses.

The call for applications is launched, with a deadline on the 15th of December, 2017.

 

 

Call for nominations for the ICIAM prizes and honours

The call for nominations for the 4 ICIAM prizes along with the Olga Taussky-Todd Lecture of the 2019 ICIAM Congress are currently running.

  • The 4 ICIAM prizes are: the ICIAM Collatz Prize, the ICIAM Lagrange Prize, the ICIAM Maxwell Prize, the ICIAM Pioneer Prize and the ICIAM Su Buchin Prize.

Apply for the 2017 Math-Business PhD Prize!

The application process to the 2017 Math-Business PhD Prize is now launched, with a deadline on July 7th, 2017.

This PhD prize amount is 2000 euros and was awarded for the first time in 2013 under the aegis of the 3 french Mathematical Societies (SFdS, SMAI , SMF). It aims at honouring a PhD thesis which was partly elaborated in an enterprise and yielded both valuable mathematical results and efficient ones for the enterprise.
