About ICIAM 2019 in Valencia, Spain

The 9th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM 2019) will be held in Valencia, Spain, on 15th-19th July 2019.

It will serve as a showcase for the most recent advances in industrial and applied mathematics, covering interdisciplinary topics relating mathematics and other disciplines and demonstrating the applicability of this discipline to science, engineering and industry.

During the Opening ceremony the 2019 ICIAM Prizes will be awarded:

The Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA), founded in France in 1978, is a nonprofit organisation working for the development of mathematics research in developing countries. CIMPA Research Schools is the historical activity of CIMPA, it focuses on areas where there is a real drive to develop mathematics and where there is a scope for a research project.

The President of the French Republic inaugurates the Institut de Mathématique d'Orsay near Paris

On October 25th, 2017, the building of the Institut de mathématique d'Orsay (IMO) was inaugurated. Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic, was present. The IMO gathers three types of services :

  • the maths laboratory "Laboratoire de mathématiques d'Orsay" (CNRS/Université Paris-Sud),
  • teaching facilities,
  • the Jacques Hadamard library, which is a reference library in mathematics supported by both CNRS and Université Paris-Sud,

thus yielding a cluster for mathematics.
