The Centre International de Mathématiques Pures et Appliquées (CIMPA) develops three main programs within the geographic areas of its activities: Africa, Central and South America, Asia. They are the CIMPA Research Schools, the Support for Training in Research program and the Short-Term Thematic funding program.

On International Women's Day, the Committee for Women in Mathematics (CWM) of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) published the video "Faces of women in mathematics": 146 clips featuring 243 women in mathematics from 36 countries speaking 31 different languages.
L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women and Science Fellowships were awarded. Among the 30 laureates stand two phD students in mathematics: Annalaura Stingo of the Laboratoire Analyse, Géométrie et Applications (CNRS, Univ. Paris-Nord, Univ. Vincennes-Saint-Denis) and Tahina Ralitera of the Laboratoire d’Informatique et de Mathématiques (University of La Réunion). Congratulations!
Stanford University received a gift to establish a graduate fellowship in memory of the mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani, who died in July 2017.
