The Grothendieck archives in Montpellier university contain unpublished manuscripts, particularly dealing with algebraic geometry, which account for the major part of Grothendieck's works between 1949 and 1991.
Researchers from Reims university (France) recently modelled the biodiversity of a socio-ecological system of the forest of the Ardennes (France). Their work aims to simulate the evolution of a tree population in that forest, in order to analyse the influence of climatic changes on its behavior.
The next European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) will take place in Firenze (Italy) on April 9th-15th, 2018.
The European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad is an international mathematics competition similar in style to the International Mathematical Olympiad, with two papers taken on consecutive days. Participating countries send teams consisting of four female mathematicians of school age. EGMO was first held in 2012.
Upon its 30th anniversary, femmes&mathématiques organises a conference entitled: "Teaching mathematics: what differences between boys and girls?", which will take place on September 29th-30th, 2017 at the Institut Henri Poincaré in Paris.

The André Parent Prize honours a research work led by a group of young mathematicians of secondary and high school. The research may or may not be supervised. It should handle a scientific subject in which mathematics play an important role. The selection committee takes into account the relevancy of the subject chosen, the mathematical skills of the candidates, as well as the capacity to present their subject to a general public audience.
The application process to the 2017 Math-Business PhD Prize is now launched, with a deadline on July 7th, 2017.
This PhD prize amount is 2000 euros and was awarded for the first time in 2013 under the aegis of the 3 french Mathematical Societies (SFdS, SMAI , SMF). It aims at honouring a PhD thesis which was partly elaborated in an enterprise and yielded both valuable mathematical results and efficient ones for the enterprise.
The 6th Math Employment Forum will take place in Paris on December 13, 2017 at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris.

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) awards PRIMA grants to outstanding women researchers in all disciplines who have a doctoral degree or equivalent research experience and aim to pursue an academic career as a professor in Switzerland, whether they are from Switzerland or from abroad. A PRIMA grant comprises the grantee's salary and project funds for a duration of up to 5 years, the possibility to plan a stay at another host institution and the offer of a mentoring network.
